Ms.
Helen G. Barker is an educator, trainer, and consultant in the areas of
management and organization, personnel and human resources, quantitative
analysis, and operations management. Ms.
Barker has spent 15 years working in the private sector as a management analyst
and resource training specialist in the distribution industry in the Washington,
DC area. She spent 5 years as a
research assistant with Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
(Virginia Tech) working in the field of child welfare.
In addition, she worked with the Northern Virginia Regional Partnership
through Virginia Tech doing economic development analysis. Currently, she is an
assistant professor with Capitol College.
Ms. Barker is a doctoral candidate at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University pursuing a Ph.D. in Public Administration and Public Affairs. She is concentrating her studies in the area of privatization of social services and is doing additional research in e-commerce. Ms. Barker received her B.A. in business management from Thomas A. Edison State University and her M.S.B.A. from Strayer University.
