What cases of property came to the early court?

Records of Pleas of Juries and Assizes...In the County of Northumberland Upon Tyne...On St.Hiary, 21st Year of King Edward Son of King Henry [14 January 1293]

William de Wyndslde and Agnes his wife, Robert Blakeye and Emma his wife, sued Nicholas son of Guiscard de Trocklaawe for a messuage and 24 acres of land with appurtenances in Trockelawe of which Ranulf de Trockelawe, grandfather of Agnes and Emma, whose heirs they were, was in demesne and fee on the day...

The jury said on oath that Patrick son of Ranulf was not seised of the 7 1/2 of the 24 acres, but that Ranulf the grandfather had died seised of the messuage and 24 acres in demense.

Translated this illustrates that by 1293 sovereignty and seised were recognized as the province of the King
